In December 2009, GE India established a new organization structure designed to enhance the growth trajectory; the restructuring marked for the first time that a country's operations within GE were organized as a full profit & loss (P&L) center with autonomy and direct control of local strategy. This "Localize for Growth" approach was energizing: it meant that we would innovate in India, for India - and the world.
